On April 30, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted two draws under its Employer Job Offer streams, focusing on candidates from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The province issued a total of 997 Invitations to Apply (ITAs), mainly targeting professionals in healthcare, construction and trades, administration, as well as tech and IT fields.

To be included in these draws, OINP candidates must currently reside in Canada with a valid work or study permit and have a job offer within the GTA.

The GTA comprises the following Census Divisions: Durham, Peel, Toronto, and York.

Details of the Draw

Ontario’s late-April draw invited candidates through its Foreign Worker and International Student job offer streams.

A significant portion (72.2%) of the 997 invitations were granted through the Foreign Worker Stream.

For information about minimum scores and number of invitations per draw, see below:

Stream Invitations issued Cutoff score Foreign Worker72057 International Student27781

Only profiles created and verified by April 28, 2026, at 11:59 p. m. were considered in these draws; profiles submitted before July 2, 2025, were not taken into account.

This draw marks the sixth round of selections this month alone after a recent series held on April 23-where over 2,000 OINP candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

This selection also signifies only the second targeted round for the GTA carried out by OINP this year; the first occurred on March 25.

Let’s compare this latest GTA-focused set of draws to the previous one from March 25 that invited 431 candidates:

You can see that the April 30 draw resulted in a much higher number of candidates invited (566 more) but had notably lower cutoff scores compared to the March 25 draw aimed at GTA candidates.

Your Next Steps After Receiving an Invitation

If you receive an ITA from OINP along with your employer’s invitation then action is required from both parties post-issue.

If you got an invitation from these draws here are your next steps:

Step one: Have your employer review their guide while submitting their application seeking approval for your position within fourteen calendar days after receiving their invitation notice.

Step two: Once they submit their application you should log into OINP e-Filing Portal selecting newly generated file numbers prefixed by “JOXX”.
The prospective nominee must submit theirs within seventeen calendar days after receipt notification.
Those who gain provincial nominations through OINP can proceed to apply with Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada(IRCC) for permanent residency thereafter.

P upcoming changes regarding OINP

These recent selections precede expected reforms set forth involving Ontario’s immigration framework which is likely driving up activity seen during April’s busy drawing season. Amendments proposed concerning Ontario Immigration Act will become effective come May thirtieth two thousand twenty-six leading existing nomination pathways such as those designed catering towards Foreign Workers International Students or skills needed being terminated entirely.

Ontario plans suggest implementing consolidated Employer Job Offer stream alongside three fresh provincial immigration routes replacing current classifications however there remains uncertainty regarding timeline launch dates along guidance needed transitioning present applicants moving forward.
