A 43-year-old man has lost his life, according to Ontario Provincial Police, after crashing his motorcycle in Tay Valley Township on Friday evening. (CBC – image credit)

A man has died after his motorcycle veered off the road and struck trees just west of Perth, Ont.

The accident took place around 6:15 p. m. on Friday on Upper Scotch Line in Tay Valley Township, as reported by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The 43-year-old victim from Carleton Place was transported to a local hospital where he was declared dead, police indicated.

A section of Upper Scotch Line was closed until early Saturday morning but has since reopened.

Anyone with video evidence of the crash is urged to reach out to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at ontariocrimestoppers. ca.

The OPP is continuing its investigation.
