Provincial police have confirmed the identity of a second victim in a homicide case from Simcoe, Ont.

Authorities report that the remains were discovered on Oct. 16 in a forested area off Highway 6, to the west of Caledonia in Haldimand County.

The following day, a postmortem examination at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service identified the deceased as 49-year-old Robert Sykes from Simcoe and ruled his cause of death as homicide.

Previously, OPP mentioned that Sykes was missing and believed to be yet another victim after 71-year-old Barbara Morgan’s body was found on Oct. 5 in her residence on Head Street South in Simcoe.
