A man was arrested after Burlington City Hall was put on lockdown yesterday.

A staff member from the City of Burlington received a threatening phone call from an angry man who said he would harm city workers, according to Halton Regional Police.

The call came in around 1:15 p. m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, police reported. Following this, City Hall was closed as a safety measure, and employees were sent home.

Police stated they made an arrest related to the incident just after 8 p. m.

The lockdown was lifted later that night, and City Hall reopened the following morning, as noted in a city post.

A 37-year-old man from Burlington is facing one charge for making threats to cause death.
