Authorities have identified the victim who was killed Friday in a shooting incident in Renfrew, Ont.

Jonathan Logan, aged 41 and residing in Renfrew County, was found injured from gunfire at a home on Vimy Boulevard just before 10:30 p. m., according to a news release from Ontario Provincial Police issued Monday.

He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect escaped before officers arrived at the scene and remains at large as of Monday afternoon, OPP stated.

OPP believes that this shooting was targeted.

A number of neighbors informed CBC after the incident that the property has had issues in the past; one labeled it a “problem house,” while another referred to it as a “frequent drug area.”

Renfrew is located roughly 100 kilometers west of downtown Ottawa.
