Drivers should prepare for another snowy day on the roads in parts of midwestern Ontario.
Lake effect snow from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will keep falling Thursday, bringing 15 to 30 centimetres of snow to Huron and southern Bruce counties, while northern Grey County can expect 5 to 15 centimetres.
“The snow squalls may become fairly stationary, leading to significant accumulations in some areas,” Environment Canada said.
Huron, northern Grey, and southern Bruce counties are under a yellow-level snow squall warning.

During the squalls, visibility on the roads could drop suddenly to near zero at times. Drivers are advised to be ready for rapidly changing and worsening travel conditions.
West Region OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk emphasized that it’s crucial, especially in winter weather, for people to check their vehicle’s readiness before heading out.
“Top up your windshield washer fluid, clear all windows, mirrors and lights of any ice or snow, keep an emergency kit in your vehicle, and check your fuel levels, tire pressure and wiper blades,” said Sanchuk in a video posted to social media. “Small steps can make a big difference in keeping you, your passengers, and everyone around you safe.”
Sanchuk shared this reminder after meeting a driver who was using snow to clear their windshield Thursday morning because they had run out of windshield washer fluid.
Along with the snowfall, Environment Canada is warning about “very cold” wind chill values from Thursday through Friday morning.
