People living in South Bruce Peninsula are being assured there’s no danger to public safety following a break-in investigation that brought many police officers to the area.

Grey Bruce OPP swarmed the Howdenvale neighborhood around 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday. Residents were asked to steer clear of the community along Lake Huron while officers were present.

The police later confirmed they were investigating a break-and-enter incident that had taken place. No additional details have been shared.

Officers cleared out of the area just before 1 a. m. on Wednesday.

Residents are advised to remain alert, and if they notice anything unusual, they should contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or dial 9-1-1 for emergencies.
