A man has lost his life and a woman is in critical condition following a collision between an SUV and a transport truck in Brampton on Tuesday afternoon.
Peel police responded to the scene at Williams Parkway and Airport Road around 3:15 p. m. after receiving reports of the accident.
The driver of the SUV, an adult male, was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The passenger, a female adult, was airlifted to a trauma center with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
Acting Sgt. Mandeep Khatra mentioned that the cause of the crash is still under investigation but preliminary witness accounts suggest that speed might have contributed to the incident.
The intersection is currently closed while police conduct their investigation.
