Luigina (Louisa) peacefully passed away on April 11, 2026, at the age of 95. She is now reunited with her husband, Eligio. Louisa was a proud mother to Loris (Denise) and a devoted Nonna to Mark (Evi) and Erica (Richard) Earley. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Ronan, Cara, Carter, and Niiko. Louisa is also survived by her sisters Antonietta and Vilma, along with many cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Letizia Martin as well as her sister Ivana.
Born in Azzano Decimo, Pordenone, Italy, Louisa was the oldest of four sisters. This upbringing instilled a strong sense of responsibility in her.
At the age of 22, she bravely traveled to Canada on her own after being invited by her future husband, Eligio.
She had a way of making friends wherever she went. With a friendly personality, she truly enjoyed being around people and loved chatting with everyone.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Agnes R. C. Church officiated by Rev. James Panikulam. Following the reception, interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery. If friends wish to make donations in Louisa’s memory, contributions to the Thunder Bay Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Blake Funeral Chapel located at 200 May Street S.
