Update: Just before 1 p. m., police announced that all lanes have reopened.

Original story continues.

This morning, parts of Highway 401 were closed following several crashes involving transport trucks.

The incidents were reported in the westbound lanes of the highway at “several” spots between Kingston and Napanee, according to the Ontario Provincial Police on X.

As of 9:45 a. m., the OPP stated that eastbound Highway 401 is still shut down between County Road 4 and Sydenham Road. The westbound lanes remain blocked at Palace Road in Napanee. However, westbound lanes have reopened in Kingston.

No serious injuries have been reported, police noted.

An earlier accident also led to a section of the highway being closed west of Brockville, added the OPP.

The collisions occurred as most areas in southern Ontario are under a special weather alert for strong winds and flurries.

Police urged everyone to drive safely.

Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported but the westbound lanes are closed at various points between Kingston and Napanee. This follows an earlier… pic. twitter. com/LBr TZe SNHR
