Police responded to the scene in a rural area southeast of Guelph shortly after 1:30 a. m. Saturday. In the vicinity of Watson Road S. and Wellington Road 34, a vehicle veered off the road, hit a guardrail and fell into a ravine, Medeiros reported.
“Four young people have lost their lives in mere moments. Families have been forever changed and an entire community is searching for answers,” she said.
She encouraged anyone who might have information or footage related to the incident to reach out to the Wellington County OPP. Even details that seem small could be crucial for investigators trying to piece together what led up to this tragedy, Medeiros added.
Roads remain closed due to the damaged guardrail and for driver safety in the area, she noted.
