A south London shopping center that recently added an Ikea is gearing up for even more businesses, a brand new hotel, and an updated bus bay to enhance bus rapid transit.
Gathering at the future location of the new bus terminal at the southeast entrance of White Oaks Mall, politicians met with officials from Westdell Development Corp., which manages the mall, to share a series of announcements.
Politicians were particularly keen on ensuring buses continue to service the mall directly and can turn around on-site instead of just using the center-running BRT lanes on Wellington Road and turning around via Holiday Avenue and Exeter Road – this change is expected to save London Transit $1 million each year in operating costs.
