In every ward of the Town of Oakville, residents have a town councillor as well as a town and regional councillor representing them.

Residents must vote for both unless a candidate is acclaimed.

Occupation

I’m currently an independent business consultant with over 25 years of experience working with global companies in five countries, focusing on marketing, customer experience strategy, data analytics, and customer-centric transformation. I’ve managed teams and budgets up to $20 million.

I live in the Glenorchy neighbourhood of Ward 7, where my wife and I have been since 2012. Our dog Kiwi joined us in 2021. We moved to Canada in early 2002 and have made Oakville our home since early 2004.

Previous Political Experience

I was the Ontario Greens’ candidate for Oakville North-Burlington during the provincial elections in 2022 and 2025, aiming to raise awareness about environmental issues and support public healthcare. Running twice taught me that listening to residents’ concerns is essential for shaping concrete positions.

This time, I’m running in the non-partisan municipal election focusing on issues that affect our daily lives in Ward 7.

If Elected, What Will Your Priorities Be?

Responsible growth Oakville’s current council plans to add 33,000 units by 2031-about 40 percent of those will be in Ward 7-but we still don’t have adequate infrastructure for today’s population. I’ll only support growth that comes with necessary schools, parks, traffic solutions, and infrastructure-not just after it happens. Transparency and accountability I’ll push for a public lobbyist and gift registry. Regardless of this initiative, I’ll make my votes known in clear language and explain significant decisions so residents can stay informed and hold me accountable. Residents first With my background in enhancing customer experience over the last quarter-century, I believe residents deserve similar treatment: they’re my priority. Through the Priority Pulse on my campaign website, they already influence my agenda; as a councillor, I’ll base my votes on evidence rather than assumptions. Green space and environment I will work towards protecting parks, trees, natural areas within Ward 7 while ensuring new developments include sufficient green space for all residents. Value for taxpayers I’m committed to careful budgeting along with transparent reports detailing where our tax dollars are spent.

My commitment is solely to the residents of Ward 7.

Occupation

I own a small business and am also a real estate broker. Running a successful gas station while working in real estate allows me to interact with people daily. I hear their concerns-things affecting their everyday lives. As a realtor, I understand their worries better; I help negotiate solutions while witnessing how housing development shapes our communities firsthand.

I’ve proudly called Oakville home for over two decades now. My connection began back in 2005 when I moved here after getting an opportunity to run a local gas station business. In 2014, I settled down permanently into Ward 7 where I’ve lived ever since.

Throughout these years watching Oakville-and especially Ward 7-grow has been fulfilling. Living here has allowed me strong connections with families and local businesses while understanding what impacts people daily. This isn’t just where I reside; it’s truly become my home.

Previous Political Experience h3 > p > While I’ve never held elected office before , I’ve always cared deeply about public affairs impacting our community. My experience stems from grassroots involvement – participating actively at peaceful protests , engaging locals about important issues , advocating when necessary. These experiences reinforced how vital it is to listen closely , represent voices effectively within council. p >

If Elected , What Will Your Priorities Be ? h3 > p > My top priority focuses on ensuring responsible growth without sacrificing quality living conditions that drew many here initially. I’ll emphasize sustainable development supported by roads , schools , parks & transit systems needed by increasing populations. p > Community safety also matters greatly – safer streets tackling speeding concerns alongside promoting responsible e-bike usage through education measures combined with appropriate enforcement actions taken accordingly. p >

Residents should have stronger voices represented at Town Hall! Accessible communication channels must come first ; regular engagement sessions allow meaningful consultations before key decisions impact neighborhoods directly ! Finally advocating efficient spending practices ensures robust municipal services bolster support towards local businesses protecting treasured green spaces reflecting neighborhood character too. P >

Most importantly know this : your councillor remains reachable ; responsive ready champion concerns you bring forth ! Vision revolves around staying connected community not isolating behind closed doors hidden away from those served faithfully each day !Scott Xie photo
