There are fourteen candidates vying for the vacant councillor position in Ward 2 as current councillor Alvin Tedjo shifts his focus to the mayoral race.

PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE

In 2026, I participated in a Political & Economic Think Tank with several presentations to Mississauga City Council, including meetings with the Mayor and Councillors, as well as with the Budget Committee.

I’ve lived in Mississauga for 24 years.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES?

I aim to ensure that Ward 2 is safe, affordable, and effectively managed. My focus will be on measurable outcomes and efficient delivery of essential services.

The issues I prioritize reflect residents’ concerns about public safety, property crime rates, road safety, housing affordability, neighborhood standards, transit options, and responsible fiscal management.

I plan to take a project-management approach to Council: setting clear priorities, assessing risks, measuring results, and reviewing performance rather than just increasing budgets.

Public safety and infrastructure will remain top priorities. I’ll also back practical initiatives related to transit and housing while keeping financial discipline in mind.

PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE

I led voluntary public forums at City Hall in Mississauga during the 1970s that contributed to community initiatives like Canada’s first Rape Hot Line and Block Parents program.

I have been part of Mississauga for 50 years.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES?

I want us to achieve equality with Toronto so we can secure funding without causing hardship-like $250 million annually-for Food Banks and YMCAs to make sure no child goes hungry over weekends. A man threw a rock through a Cop Shop window just for shelter this winter at our expense of $139 per day; we could help him eat and stay warm for less than $39/day.

We need to lower crime rates by stopping further criminal activity while saving taxpayers money. This would allow us to improve services and reduce property taxes especially for low-income families. How do other candidates plan on achieving this? By magic?

No more landfills!
I’m creating a Petition Pyramid that will last beyond elections giving citizens a voice in government decisions. A public forum at city hall will connect residents with council members.

Executive Director of Ontario’s Big City Mayors

PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE

This is my first attempt at running for office; however I have worked previously with the Government of Ontario as well as spending over a year working for Mississauga City before being Executive Director at Ontario’s Big City Mayors these past five years.

Brought up in Mississauga all my life, I’ve spent 12 years living specifically in Ward 2.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES?

The main focuses I have set out for Ward 2 include:

  • Safer Neighborhoods
    – Improving street safety through practical measures specific to each neighborhood’s needs while ensuring homes are secured better – creating an environment where families feel safe thriving together.
  • Affordable Living
    – Keeping taxes responsible without sacrificing essential services while respecting affordability levels evident from local households.
  • A Greener Future
    – Protecting green spaces while planning ahead responsibly; addressing air quality impacts along with managing flood situations effectively.

“Every major decision about spending should begin by asking what measurable advantages do constituents gain from their contributions?”
