Authorities are on the lookout for a convicted murderer who they claim broke out of the Collins Bay Institution in Kingston, Ont.
Mason Jenkins, 49, failed to report for an 11:15 a. m. headcount at his minimum-security unit at the multi-level security federal facility on Thursday, according to a news release from Kingston Police.
The Correctional Service of Canada mentioned in another announcement that an arrest warrant has been issued for the inmate.
Jenkins is currently serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and drug trafficking.
Kingston Police have described him as being five feet, nine inches tall; weighing around 255 pounds; with a fair complexion, brown eyes, and a shaved head.
According to police reports, Jenkins was last spotted wearing jeans, a light green jacket, and rubber boots.
If you see Jenkins, please do not approach him and call 911 immediately.
