The contractor for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s (MTO) Dunlop Street bridge replacement project will start two closures on Sept. 28, 2026. These closures are necessary for culvert work, grading, and realignment efforts on Dunlop Street West and Cedar Pointe Drive. Cedar Pointe Drive at Dunlop Street West will be completely closed from Sept. 28 to Nov. 27, 2026. Businesses along Cedar Pointe Drive will stay open and can be reached via Edgehill Drive or Leacock Drive during this construction period. Detours will guide traffic from Dunlop Street West through Ferndale Drive and Edgehill Drive. The southbound on-ramp to Highway 400 from westbound Dunlop Street West will close from Monday, Sept. 28 to Friday, Nov. 13, 2026. The detour will redirect traffic to Highway 400 using Ferndale Drive, Ardagh Road, and Essa Road. Drivers should plan ahead and follow the signs posted in the area. This work is part of the ongoing Highway 400 project by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, which involves building a new expanded bridge over Highway 400 at Dunlop Street as well as widening the interchange for future expansion needs on Highway 400.
