Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) wants to gather thoughts from residents regarding tourism and hospitality in the area.
A “resident sentiment” survey is now available online.
TWEPI President and CEO Gordon Orr mentioned that the aim isn’t just for locals to share their favorite spots but also to express their feelings about them.
“Tourism is an important part of our region’s economy and contributes to the vibrancy of our communities, but it’s equally important that we understand how the people who live here feel about its impact,” said Orr. “Their feedback will provide valuable insight into where opportunities exist, and how we can continue to grow tourism in a way that benefits our visitors, our businesses and, most importantly, the communities we call home.”
TWEPI stated that around five million visitors come to the region each year, contributing approximately $816-million in visitor spending and supporting over 11,000 seasonal jobs locally.
The survey is being carried out by Bannikin, a research firm based in Ontario.
