On Tuesday morning, volunteer firefighters were actively engaged in rescuing tenants from the third, fourth, and fifth floors of a burning apartment building located in Tillsonburg, Ont.
According to West Region OPP Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuk, a person walking their dog in a nearby park spotted flames emerging from a fourth-floor balcony of the Lisgar Avenue apartment building just before 7 a. m. Tuesday and quickly called 911.
A video shared on Twitter at 8 a. m. showed several fire departments responding to the scene. The fire department from Tillsonburg utilized its ladder to help evacuate individuals from the upper levels.
