Every year, many folks across Waterloo Region, Ontario, and all over Canada take part in the Terry Fox Run to help raise funds for cancer research. This year’s run is just around the corner, and there are a few ways you can get involved.

With several runs taking place throughout the Region of Waterloo on Sept. 20, locals will have the chance to come together as a community to fundraise.

A Terry Fox Run is set to happen in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, with donations being accepted both online and at the event.

The organizers are encouraging everyone to join in; a mix of walkers, runners, rollerbladers, and cyclists are expected.

If you want to take part in your local Terry Fox Run, interested participants can register online ahead of time. While there’s no fee to register, attendees are encouraged to fundraise or make a personal donation online. Residents can also sign up at the event location but only for a short time before it starts.

With just one day left until the run kicks off, over $120,000 has already been raised online from supporters across the three cities in Waterloo Region.

Kitchener Terry Fox Run

Kitchener’s Terry Fox Run will begin at Victoria Park and features two routes for participants. Registration at Victoria Park will open at 11 a. m., with the run starting an hour later at 12 p. m.

Registration in Waterloo Park will be available from 8:45 a. m. until 12:30 p. m. The opening ceremonies are set to start at 9:45 a. m.

The run itself will commence at 10 a. m. and continue until 1 p. m.

Cambridge Terry Fox Run

Registration opens at 11 a. m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 11:45 a. m. The Cambridge run will start right after at 12 p. m.
