KINGSTON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has been informed about sporadic 9-1-1 service outages throughout the province.
People in need of urgent police assistance are advised to use the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122, which is still fully functional.
For those in the Kingston area, if you’re unable to reach 9-1-1 and require emergency police help, please call the Kingston Police non-emergency line at 613-549-4660, which is operational.
OPP officers are also still responding to calls despite the ongoing outage.
“Members of the public should not call 9-1-1 for information, updates, or to test the phone line if they are not in an emergency situation,” a statement from the OPP said on Thursday morning.
“The OPP is working with service providers to expedite the restoration of 9-1-1 service. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.”
