Three more arrests have been made by the Major Crime Unit (MCU) of Peterborough County OPP in connection with the armed robbery that took place on May 7, 2025, in Keene.

On that day, just before 5 p. m., officers from the Peterborough County OPP responded to reports of an armed robbery at a bank in Keene. It was said that three people entered the bank with weapons. They managed to leave with some Canadian currency. Descriptions of these individuals and their vehicle were given to the officers, who found the vehicle shortly after. Two suspects, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old from Brampton, were arrested and held for bail.

The investigation continued as the Peterborough County MCU looked into how the robbery was planned and carried out.

On July 9, 2026, police from the Peterborough County OPP MCU went to an address in Mississauga and arrested a now-19-year-old suspect, charging them with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. The suspect was taken to Peterborough where they were held for bail.

Then on July 22, 2026, two other suspects who were already in custody at Central North Correctional Centre for unrelated issues were brought to Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough. They faced charges related to the robbery.

A 19-year-old and a 20-year-old from Mississauga were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. Both appeared before a Justice of the Peace and are now remanded in custody awaiting future court dates.

Since these individuals were minors at the time of the crime, their names can’t be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

If you have any information about illegal activities, please contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or if you wish to remain anonymous, visit Crime Stoppers at: stopcrimehere. ca or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
