With heavy hearts, the family of Thomas James Duke shares the news of his passing at the age of 88. He passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Hogarth Riverview Manor, surrounded by loved ones.
Thomas was born in Port Arthur, ON, to Thomas and Irene Duke on April 17, 1938. He had a long and fulfilling career as a Yard Foreman with Provincial Papers and retired in 1993.
He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Clara Plumridge; his sons David and James “Jimmy” (Sandra), who also live in Thunder Bay; and his daughter Carol Yestrau (Vance) from Gimli, Manitoba.
His grandchildren – Shawn (Ashley), Shane and Stephan Inglis, Katie, Gary, Brandon and Justin Duke – are also mourning his loss.
As per Thomas’ wishes, he has been cremated. His interment will take place at a later time.
To celebrate Thomas’ life, the family encourages everyone to enjoy some ice cream – it was his favorite!
