Robert (Bob) Mc Phee passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, with May, his loving wife of 40 years, by his side.
Born in Port Arthur, Bob spent his early childhood in Stanley before moving to the city. He attended Pineview Elementary School and Northwood High School before studying mechanics in Sault Ste. Marie.
Bob began his career as a heavy equipment mechanic in the mid-1960s at Ontario Paper in Manitouwadge. He later joined Northern Wood Preservers, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring.
A quiet and kind man, Bob was always ready to help others. He loved spending time at camp with family, fishing and hunting, playing his guitar, and listening to Elvis Presley-his favorite artist for life.
Retirement allowed Bob and May to enjoy more family time and travel together. They delighted in visiting their grandchildren, taking bus tours across the United States, and going on multiple cruises. Among all their travels, Alaska held a special spot in Bob’s heart as his favorite destination.
Bob will be deeply missed by his beloved wife May; children Liz Crompton (Tim), Scott Mc Phee, Randy Ducharme (Melanie), and Amanda Mc Phee (Jesse); along with grandchildren Travis, Ben, Kourtney, Tyler, Xavier, Madison, Hannah, Zoey, and Lucy.
He will also be remembered fondly by siblings Irma Weinrauch, Marlene Meservier, Joe Weinrauch and Jane Weinrauch; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as extended family members and close friends.
Bob was predeceased by his mother Sarah Jane Weinrauch; brothers Sandy and Daniel; brother-in-law Wayne Meservier; grandfather Robert Mc Minn; cousin Rob Mc Minn; uncles Bob, Tom and Angus Mc Minn; along with aunt Sheila Frowen.
Following Bob’s wishes there will be no service held after cremation has taken place. If you wish to honor him further please consider making a donation to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Thunder Bay instead of sending flowers.
