In Loving Memory of George Ernest “Peewee” Kent
With a heavy heart, we share the news of George Ernest “Peewee” Kent’s passing. Born on October 24, 1952, in Orillia, Ontario, Peewee left us peacefully on August 30, 2026, surrounded by family and love after a short illness.
Peewee spent many years in Alberta, living out his cowboy dreams in the mountains and caring for his beloved horses. He retired in 2020, which gave him more time to spend with family back in Ontario during the last six years. Over his lifetime, he held various jobs and was always ready to work hard to support his loved ones.
Above everything else, Peewee was a devoted father. He raised his two children, Lisa Ligers and Tim Kent, on his own and often worked two or three jobs just to make sure they had what they needed. His dedication and love for them are among the most important things he leaves behind.
Peewee took great pride in being a grandfather to Natalie Kent, Lily Kent, Will Ligers, and Mia Ligers. His family held him dear.
He is preceded in death by his parents Andy and Nancy Kent. Peewee will be fondly remembered by his children Lisa Ligers (Juris Ligers) and Tim Kent (Brenda Smale); his brother Jim Kent (Barbara Kent), who was also his best friend; along with sisters Melody Staszko (Mike Staszko) and Susan Morris (Dave Morris); as well as extended family members and lifelong friend John Mac Crimmon.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at OSMH for their kind care of Dad during his last days. We will always remember the nurses from Harvey Dialysis and Emergency Room-especially Nurse Sara-with deep appreciation.
We are also thankful to Dr. Abbas, Dr. Fernandes, Dr. Evans, and Dr. Vimalendran for their compassion towards Dad and our family during this tough time. In honor of Dad’s exceptional care received there, donations can be made to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or Mariposa House Hospice.
Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Peewee’s Life will occur at Carson Funeral Homes – L. Doolittle Chapel on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 p. m., starting with memory sharing at 2:00 p. m.
He’ll be remembered for all he built in life-the sacrifices he made for family-and most importantly for all the love he shared with those around him.
No matter if you called him George or Peewee-he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
