What roads will be closed?
Temporary partial lane closures and intermittent overnight road closures began on July 19 and will last until Aug. 12 to prepare the street circuit. The majority of overnight closures are scheduled from 9 p. m. to 6 a. m., but the city noted that construction times might change based on weather conditions. Emergency vehicles will still have full access during this period. Starting at 9 p. m. on Aug. 12, there will be complete road closures until 6 a. m. on Aug. 18 for race weekend activities and the dismantling of the temporary circuit.Affected roads include:
Main Street Unionville (south of Highway 7). Unionville Gate. South Unionville Avenue. Enterprise Boulevard. University Boulevard. YMCA Boulevard. Kennedy Road (south of Highway 7 to south of Highway 407). Highway 407 interchange ramps. The city advises residents to avoid unnecessary travel near the race circuit during this time and follow detour signs and electronic message boards. Residents living close to the track should brace for higher noise levels during race weekend. The city states that noise from the Indy cars will sound similar to a rock concert between 9 a. m. and 6 p. m., with practice sessions, qualifying, and race day happening from Aug. 14 to 16.
