Almost a year has passed since the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a tragic crash on Eastview Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
This single-vehicle accident resulted in the death of an 18-year-old man. The incident occurred around 4 p. m. on October 30, 2025.
A 16-year-old boy was also injured in the crash and taken to a trauma center in Hamilton with injuries that were not life-threatening at the time.
Now, nearly a year later, authorities have charged a 17-year-old from Guelph with dangerous driving causing death.
The teen’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and will not be disclosed.
The young man is scheduled to appear in court in Guelph at a future date.
