William Davis, a resident of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at Peterborough Regional Hospital. He was surrounded by his wife, son, and daughter-in-law. Born on October 30, 1932, in Peterborough, Bill spent nearly his whole life in the city he adored.
He was a loving husband to Joan Davis for an incredible 66 years. Bill took great pride in being the father of Kelly Davis (and his wife Heather) and Cindy Davis (who has passed). He was a doting grandfather who had a special bond with Olivia and Marlow; they brought him immense happiness. Bill was also the brother of Nelson and Tom (both predeceased).
Bill had a strong work ethic and dedicated over 35 years to Raybestos. A lifelong fan of sports, he especially loved following the Peterborough Petes throughout the years. He enjoyed going to the gym and held a YMCA membership for an impressive 57 years. Winters were often spent enjoying Florida.
Everyone who met Bill liked him. He will be remembered for his steady demeanor, hard work, dedication to family, and unwavering support for the Petes. His absence will be felt deeply by Joan, Kelly, Heather, Olivia, Marlow, many nieces and nephews, and all who knew him.
The family is truly thankful for the kindness and care that Bill received from all the doctors and nurses in palliative care as well as the many PSWs who supported them. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Emily Hughes for her outstanding professionalism in caring for Bill and to nurse Courtney for her compassion during his final moments.
Visitation will occur at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, July 30th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm followed by a Memorial Service in the Highland Chapel at 2:00pm. There will be a reception afterward in the Highland Reception Centre. Interment will take place at Little Lake Cemetery.
