A peace officer from Queen’s Park, who also served with the Oakville Marine Unit, tragically passed away following a car accident early Sunday morning.
Reports confirm that Joshua Camacho has died, but specifics on how the crash occurred and details about any others involved have not been disclosed.
Provincial leaders and members of the Legislative Protective Service have expressed their condolences after Camacho’s untimely passing.
“Josh dedicated himself to serving others, both as a SAR member of the Oakville Marine Search and Rescue team and as a Peace Officer serving the Legislative Assembly of Ontario,” said Oakville Ward 1 town and regional councillor Sean O’Meara on Facebook.

“My sincere condolences go out to Josh’s family, friends, colleagues and his fellow OMSAR crew members during this difficult time. His commitment to public service and our community will be remembered. He will be missed.”
“We are extremely grateful for the men and women who keep Queen’s Park safe every day and my thoughts are with everyone at the Legislative Protective Service at this difficult time,” Premier Doug Ford posted on X.
Donna Skelly, speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, posted on X that Camacho worked as a peace officer at Queen’s Park for three years, was known for his professionalism and commitment to service and will be deeply missed.
“For those who worked alongside him, Camacho’s passing represents the loss of a colleague who had spent years serving the Legislative Protective Service. His role required dedication, professionalism and a strong commitment to public safety, qualities highlighted in tributes following his death,” Camacho’s obituary said.
