BLIND RIVER – On Wednesday, June 10 at around 4:45 a. m., officers from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single commercial motor vehicle accident at the east end of Causley Street in Blind River.

When police arrived, they found a tractor-trailer in a ditch, partially obstructing the road. Their investigation revealed that the commercial driver had missed a turn on the south side of Causley Street and was attempting to reverse into a business entrance when this incident occurred.

Following their investigation, a 30-year-old driver from Brampton, Ontario, received several Provincial Offence Notices and was charged with:

Careless driving Fail to surrender inspection schedule

Drivers of commercial vehicles must operate safely and ensure they have all necessary documentation for inspection. Proper planning for trips and following safety rules can help lower the chances of accidents and disruptions on the road.
