Provincial police report that a 63-year-old man from Markham, Ont., has tragically drowned in Lake Muskoka on Saturday.
In a news release issued on Sunday, Ontario Provincial Police stated they are looking into the drowning incident that occurred near Walker’s Point in Muskoka Lakes, Ont.
Officers responded to reports of a boater who had gone overboard and failed to resurface at around 4:30 p. m.
The OPP’s underwater search and recovery unit later located the man and confirmed he had passed away at the scene, according to the provincial police’s statement on Sunday.
The OPP is urging anyone with information to get in touch with them.
