Raymond L. Paterson OBITUARY
In Loving Memory On July 18, 2025, Raymond Leslie Paterson passed away quietly after battling Alzheimer’s and dealing with a broken hip. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Sue, and their children, Ben (Jen), Sam (Kristy), Emily Jensen (Mark), and Joe (Brenna), along with his nine grandchildren: Kendall (Kaden), Carson, Kelsey, Cade, Devon, Drew, Jordan, Dylan, and Hunter. He is also survived by his brother John (Janet) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Bill, Jim, and Jeanne. Ray was born in Spokane, WA to Melvin and Velma Paterson. He grew up in Covina, CA and graduated from Covina High School in 1965. He enlisted in the US Army where he served honorably as part of the elite Special Forces (Green Beret/Airborne) Unit and was stationed in Thailand. After completing his service, he attended Santa Barbara City College before transferring to Brigham Young University. In 1974, Ray and Sue made their home in Ontario, CA where they raised their four kids. He spent 30 years working for Ralphs Grocery Co., retiring as Director of Transportation and Distribution. A committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ray served with dedication. He had a passion for sports-especially the Dodgers-and loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in various sports and activities. Ray is deeply missed by all who knew him. His strong work ethic and unwavering service to his church set an example for family and friends alike. A memorial service took place at the Ontario LDS church on Francis Street. His burial occurred at Riverside National Cemetery with full military honors. You will always be remembered until we meet again one day.Source link
