With heavy hearts, we share the news of Robert “Bob” Joseph Stein’s passing on August 16, 2026. Born on December 27, 1974, in Windsor, Ontario, Bob was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend whose warmth and laughter enriched the lives of everyone around him.
Bob was the dear son of Mary Ellen and the late John Sr. Stein and the beloved grandson of John Joseph and Rose Stein and John and Theresa Mc Mahon. He grew up in a family that prioritized kindness, humor, and genuine connection-qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
He was a devoted husband to Teresa Stein (nee Frangione), who sadly passed away in 2018. They enjoyed five wonderful years together built on friendship and love. As best friends, they created a home filled with happiness and laughter. Bob is survived by his two precious daughters, Gabriella and Alana, who were his greatest joy.
A proud graduate of St. Clair College, Bob spent many years working at the family automobile dealership alongside his brother John and father. His passion for cars started young; he loved engaging with both customers and colleagues in the auto industry. A lifelong supporter of all Detroit sports teams, Bob also enjoyed playing hockey and being active in various sports. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his daughters while sharing his enthusiasm for life.
Bob had an infectious smile paired with a generous spirit and great sense of humor. He made friends easily with anyone he met due to his genuine nature that drew people in effortlessly.
He leaves behind his caring mother Mary Ellen; his brother John; mother-in-law Maria; and brother-in-law Antonio. His life was further enhanced by good friends Fred and Elyse Maindonald along with many others who will deeply miss him.
In honor of Bob’s memory, the family requests donations be made to the Windsor Cancer Clinic or the Mental Health Association – Windsor Essex County as these causes were close to his heart.
The family also expresses heartfelt gratitude to everyone supporting Gabriella and Alana during this tough time. Your kindness has been incredibly comforting.
A private family service took place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location followed by cremation. Interment will occur at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
Though Bob’s time with us was short-lived, it showcased love, friendship, and true kindness. His spirit will continue to thrive in those fortunate enough to have known him.
