The inquiry is ongoing following a tragic tent fire that occurred early this morning.

At 3:15 a. m., police responded to a wooded area in Mountain Locks Park, located behind The Keg on Glendale Ave., where they found an active fire involving a tent.

Firefighters from St. Catharines arrived to extinguish the flames, during which they discovered the body of a man.

Authorities report that the Criminal Investigative Branch is leading the investigation, working alongside the Ontario Fire Marshall.

The temperature was bitterly cold at the time of the incident, hitting -10 degrees without factoring in windchill.

If anyone has information regarding this event, they’re encouraged to reach out to the Niagara Regional Police Service at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1009865.
