Police have made a second arrest related to the death of an Ottawa man discovered in a Perth park back in mid-April.
Lyna Du, 32, who also hails from Ottawa, has been charged as an accessory after the fact to murder, according to the Ontario Provincial Police on June 10.
Du is currently in custody and is set to appear in court in Perth on Friday, June 12, as stated by an OPP news release.
In May, Michael Lewis, 46, from Perth was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
The arrest of Du followed what police described as a search at a rural property near Terrace, B. C., with assistance from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. During this search, two firearms were confiscated.
There are still two individuals wanted for second-degree murder charges; arrest warrants have been issued for Joseph Madore, 34, and Brayton Kennedy, 28, both from Ottawa.
The OPP mentioned that investigators believe Madore might be camping somewhere in rural British Columbia while Kennedy’s location remains unknown. Authorities are urging anyone with information about their whereabouts to reach out to police right away.
On April 12 around 3:15 p. m., officers from the OPP’s Lanark County detachment found Christo Allison Richards, 34 years old and from Ottawa, suffering from life-threatening injuries at Last Duel Park in Perth. He was taken to a regional trauma center but sadly passed away shortly after.
The investigation is ongoing according to the OPP. Anyone who has any information is encouraged to contact the Lanark County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or online at ontariocrimestoppers. ca.
