The Town of Plympton-Wyoming is excited to announce the launch of a brand new modern washroom facility located near the baseball diamond at Canton Park.

This project was made possible thanks to a $150,000 capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

The restroom is designed to be fully accessible, ensuring everyone can participate in community events, recreational activities, and family gatherings.

Mayor Gary Atkinson mentioned that the washroom meets the standards set by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

He stated that this initiative promotes inclusivity and accessibility while creating a more inviting public space for all.

“The old facility was past its due date,” said Atkinson. “We’re quite fortunate to have applied for this grant and to have been successful. We’re thankful the Ontario government and Ontario Trillium Foundation were able to support us on that.”

Sarnia Lambton MPP Bob Bailey shared his thoughts about the new facility in a news release.

“I’m extremely pleased that the Town of Plympton-Wyoming was selected to receive this important grant from the Ontario government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation,” said Bailey. “Canton Park is a cherished community gathering place; the new accessible washroom is an important improvement and will benefit visitors to the park for years to come.”

In 2025-26, OTF invested nearly $107 million into 746 community projects across the province.

These investments focus on enhancing economic well-being, encouraging more active lifestyles, supporting child and youth development, providing spaces for people to connect, and fostering a more sustainable environment.
