The Windsor Police Service says it has charged a registered nurse regarding the alleged assault of a child with special needs who was in her care.
The investigation began in April, according to a news release issued by the service on Wednesday.
“Investigators subsequently determined that there was sufficient evidence to believe that in April 2026, the child was physically assaulted while under the nurse’s care,” police said in a release.
They have arrested 51-year-old Jennifer Robin Pye, who has been charged with assault, police reported.
Authorities are asking anyone with information that may help with the investigation to reach out to the Windsor Police Service’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) or Crime Stoppers.
