Shooting Incident in Whitby Raises Concerns

Shooting Incident in Whitby Raises Concerns

Police in Durham Region are looking into a shooting that took place in Whitby early Monday morning.

As per investigators, several gunshots were heard around 2:45 a. m. by people nearby at the intersection of Victoria Street West and Halls Road South.

“Officers arrived and located multiple shell casings in the area and bullet holes in a residence,” police wrote in a news release issued on Monday.

Authorities confirmed that residents were inside the home during the shooting, but no injuries were reported.

“At this time, police believe this to be an isolated incident,” investigators added.

So far, authorities haven’t released any details about possible suspect(s).
