Four teenagers were taken to the hospital, with three suffering from serious injuries, after a rollover accident involving one vehicle in Whitby early Thursday morning.

Officers arrived at the scene around 5:35 a. m. following reports of a single-vehicle crash on Myrtle Road West, just west of Baldwin Street North, according to Durham Regional Police Const. Nick Gluckstein.

When they got there, they found a flipped car and several occupants who were seriously hurt.

An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were taken to trauma centres in the Toronto area with serious injuries. A 16-year-old girl was airlifted to one of those trauma centres, while a 14-year-old boy was sent to a local hospital.

β€œAt least two occupants were ejected from the vehicle during the collision,” Gluckstein said in a statement to .

Myrtle Road West is closed in both directions between Baldwin Street North and Ashburn Road as police investigate the collision, according to a post by Durham Police on social media.
