Where to Catch FIFA World Cup Games in Waterloo Area

Where to Catch FIFA World Cup Games in Waterloo Area

It’s nearly time to pick up the vuvuzela and join fellow fans for some FIFA World Cup excitement.

This year’s tournament is being held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, starting on June 11.

Canada plays its first match on June 12 at 3 p. m. at BMO Field in Toronto against Bosnia and Herzegovina. There will be six matches hosted in Toronto from June 12 until July 2.

If you missed out on tickets, don’t worry! There are plenty of places around Waterloo region and beyond where you can enjoy the games with other supporters.

The Ontario government has also extended last call at bars and restaurants, allowing alcohol service until 4 a. m.-two hours later than usual.

DTK Welcomes the World

June 11 to July 19

Kitchener Market

The Downtown Kitchener BIA will be organizing free watch parties for every match during the FIFA World Cup.

The kickoff game is on June 11 at 3 p. m., featuring Mexico versus South Africa.

The next match will take place on June 12 at 3 p. m., when Canada competes against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

You can expect two to four games per day during the round-robin stage.

This area will feature free outdoor screenings daily. Attendees should bring their own chairs along with food or drinks or visit one of four nearby patios.

Team Canada’s First Game

Friday, June 12 at 3 p. m..C<maxwell's Concerts and Events, Waterloo.b>This event requires tickets and features three large screens showing the game. There’ll be food trucks available plus prizes throughout the event. This is an all-ages event with a license.

“Canada Celebrates” – Kitchener July Carl Zehr Square located in front of city hall This family-friendly gathering is hosted alongside FIFA; it’s a free event filled with watch parties, World Cup-themed fun activities, music, food stalls, and more programming. This event marks one of many across Canada-38 events taking place in total across 34 different communities. Stay tuned for more details!
