Police say there are no charges expected as a result of the late night collision in Collingwood

A 22-year-old woman died after being hit by a car on Mountain Road in Collingwood late Wednesday night.

Collingwood OPP announced this afternoon the on-scene investigation is now over and no charges are expected as a result of the collision.

“Investigation so far has found that the pedestrian.. was directly in the path of the involved vehicle and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash,” states a news release.

The woman, a Wasaga Beach resident, was taken to a local hospital via ambulance, but was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Mountain Road was closed for nearly 24 hours following the crash, which happened on Nov. 19 just before 10 a. m.
