Police say there are no charges expected as a result of the late night collision in Collingwood

A 22-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on Mountain Road in Collingwood late Wednesday night.

Collingwood OPP announced this afternoon that the investigation at the scene is now complete and no charges will be filed following the incident.

“Investigation so far has found that the pedestrian.. was directly in the path of the involved vehicle and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash,” states a news release.

The woman, who lived in Wasaga Beach, was taken to a local hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Mountain Road remained closed for nearly 24 hours after the accident, which occurred on Nov. 19 just before 10 p. m.
