A man from Vaughan, aged 28, has been charged with first-degree murder following the fatal stabbing of a Toronto woman, aged 29, at a high-rise in North York on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto Police reported that officers responded to a call about “a person with a knife” at a residential building near Don Mills Rd. And Fairview Mall Dr., just north of Sheppard Ave. E., around 2:30 p. m.
The officers discovered a female victim inside a hallway who was later identified as Thi Nguyen. She had sustained stab wounds.
Life-saving efforts were attempted but sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect had fled before police arrived.
The following day police arrested Martin Ly and charged him with first-degree murder as well as failure to comply with an undertaking.
This marks Toronto’s 21st homicide for this year.

Fatal workplace incident at Flamboro Speedway
A Hamilton Police report indicated that an employee died after being involved in an accident at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday night.
Cops responded to calls made around 9:15 p. m., reporting that someone had been hurt due to an “accident on the track.”

Employee transported for treatment where they later passed away due to their injuries.
The news outlet Flamborough Today mentioned that this unnamed employee was a man in his late sixties.
