A 53-year-old man from Vaughan, Ont., has been charged for allegedly threatening a child during a soccer game earlier this month.

York Regional Police announced on Monday that the man is facing one count of uttering threats in connection with an incident that took place on June 20.

Around 10 p. m. that evening, a youth soccer match was happening at a field near Dufferin Street and Highway 407. The accused, who is a parent of one of the players, reportedly made a threat against a child on the other team, which led to the game’s conclusion, according to police.
