A man, 48 years old, has lost his life following a collision in Vaughan on Saturday night, according to York Regional Police.
Officers arrived at the scene near Weston and Rutherford roads around 10:20 p. m., police informed CBC Toronto.
A vehicle struck a tree before crashing into a wall, police noted. They didn’t share details about what led to the crash.
The driver was declared dead at the scene. A passenger, who is 44, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police reported.
Anyone who may have information or dash cam footage is encouraged to reach out to police.
Weston Road is shut down southbound from Astonia to Valeria boulevards, police mentioned.
