A woman has died after falling into Lake Ontario at Jack Darling Park in Mississauga Saturday evening, Peel police said.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a woman who had been “swept into the water” at Jack Darling Park around 10:30 p. m., said Const. Tyler Bell-Morena with Peel police.
He said Mississauga Fire located the woman around 11:15 p. m. after search and rescue efforts.
Peel paramedics said they transported an adult woman with serious, life-threatening injuries to local hospital. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital, Bell-Morena said.
No other details are available on the woman as police have yet to locate or notify her next of kin, he said.
