A man and a woman in their 30s have lost their lives following a boating accident in Muskoka on Friday night.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that just after 10:30 p. m., they discovered a heavily damaged boat resting on a rock ledge at the location on Lake Rosseau, close to Backenrig Bay.
Authorities stated they quickly initiated a thorough search operation, which included the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit; however, neither individual was found at the site or in the nearby area.
The bodies of a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Toronto, were recovered by rescuers on Saturday. Police did not disclose their identities nor confirm the nature of their relationship.
Investigators are continuing to look into the details surrounding the crash.
