The Shriners are gearing up for their annual Fish Fry and Elimination Draw.
This year, the event takes place on Friday, Jan. 16, combining two fun activities into one.
“You do not have to have an elimination draw ticket to attend the event,” said Shriner John Danbrook. “Basically, the fry is the host for the event.”
The annual event began a few years ago when there was a scheduling conflict at the arena for pork barbecue. Instead, they held the elimination draw and fish fry. It turned out to be such a hit that they decided to keep it going.
Tickets for the elimination draw cost $100 each, with only 400 available. The holders of the 100th, 200th, and 300th tickets drawn will win $100 each. The final ticket drawn will take home $20,000. Danbrook emphasized that this means participants have a one in 400 chance of winning that grand prize.
You can get tickets for the draw from Shrine Club members or at Danbrook Automotive.
At the fish fry, enjoy all-you-can-eat pickerel. Tickets are priced at $30 and can be purchased at the door.
All proceeds from this event will support local causes and Shriner’s hospitals.
