This week marks the start of more than a dozen fall fairs across Ontario, with festivities taking place from Russell to Aylmer beginning on Aug. 13 – just before the Canadian National Exhibition kicks off in Toronto.
Although summer is technically still here for over a month, the back-to-school countdown has begun, bringing along fun evenings filled with tractor pulls, demolition derbies, petting zoos, livestock exhibits, tasty food options, and exciting competitions.
Let’s take a look at what’s on this weekend and some key events planned for early September.
Which Ontario fall fairs are happening this weekend, Aug. 13 to 16?
Russell Fair
Check out a craft beer festival, truck/tractor pulls, live music throughout the weekend, a demolition derby, midway attractions, an education barn, cattle and sheep shows as well as homecraft displays.
South Mountain Fair
The South Mountain Fair features 4-H shows, a demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls along with beef, horse and poultry shows. There’s also a rodeo and entertainment tent for kids.
Vankleek Hill Fair
Enjoy agricultural displays alongside homecraft exhibits and livestock shows as well as midway activities.
Emo Fair
This fair includes exhibits showcasing livestock and produce along with crafts. Plus there’s a midway for rides, stock car races and even a parade!
Capital Fair
The Capital Fair lasts ten days featuring eastern Ontario’s largest midway. Visitors can explore an agricultural discovery zone filled with fair food vendors plus dog shows and various live performances.
You’ll find demolition derbies too along with livestock exhibitions by Campbell Amusements’ midway experience that includes wood carving demonstrations and plenty of activities for children.
Bayfield Fair
This fair hosts homecraft and agricultural exhibits alongside live performances including fireworks! Look forward to parades too along with beer tents featuring local brews plus 4-H livestock presentations.
Laird Fair
Experience country life through indoor exhibitions showcasing heavy/light horse contests while enjoying children’s entertainment accompanied by food vendors offering delicious treats!
Murillo Fair
This event features competitions among livestock showcases paired up with artisan demonstrations while providing educational programming throughout its span!
Stirling Fair
With its exhibition halls hosting homecraft displays alongside 4-H events plus demolition derbies supported by Albion Amusements midways-this one promises excitement!
Teeswater Fair
A three-day spectacle awaits visitors filled up full throttle-featuring everything from tractor/truck/motorcycle pulls to even human ones! Don’t miss out on all sorts of entertainment Friday & Saturday wrapping it up nicely afterwards via another thrilling round of demolitions thereafter too!
Tillsonburg Fair
