Just a few days after the Zehrs in Woodstock reported seven COVID-19 cases among its staff, the grocery store in Tillsonburg has announced one active case.
An employee last worked on November 27, as confirmed by a spokesperson from Loblaws, and tested positive on December 3.
The Zehrs in Woodstock now has seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 among its employees. According to a company spokesperson, “more than a dozen” people are also isolating due to exposure.
“We have implemented additional measures, including enhanced cleaning, to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in the store. We have also worked closely with local public health, who have confirmed there is no additional risk to customers at this time, and we continue to encourage all colleagues and customers to social distance and wear proper (personal protective equipment),” a company release stated.
The last day any exposed Woodstock employee was in that store was November 26.
Local public health officials noted that close contacts of confirmed Woodstock Zehrs cases had tested positive as of November 30, but the risk to the general public remains low. All cases have been isolated, according to health officials.
