MY BROADCASTING CORPORATION (MBC) has increased its footprint in Ontario by acquiring three radio stations from Rogers Sports & Media, and they have officially reintroduced them with new community-oriented formats.
The acquisition consists of 101.3 CKOT-FM and 107.3 CJDL-FM in Tillsonburg, as well as 92.3 CJET-FM in Smiths Falls. The stations have been renamed as follows:
101.3 GIANT FM – Classic Rock for Southwestern Ontario New Country 107.3 – Country hits with a local touch for Tillsonburg 92.3 WOW-FM – Classic pop music and local news for Smiths Falls
“These stations each have deep roots in their communities, and we’re proud to give them a new voice with formats that reflect the tastes and values of local listeners,” said MBC President Jon Pole. “At MBC, we believe in giving more than we take – and we’re committed to investing in local radio, local news, and local people.”
To further this vision, MBC plans to build new studios in both Tillsonburg and Smiths Falls over the next few months. The upgraded facilities will bolster local journalism and community programming, aligning with MBC’s goal to enhance hometown radio.
The stations will also be supported by digital news platforms, including the launch of OXFORDtoday. ca.
Pole explains these new additions perfectly complement MBC’s existing local stations and platforms across the province.
